Kevin Fryett

Massive thanks to Tom Cooper & his colleagues at @SGDLtd for another fantastic job with our new 50 seated spectator stand. Would highly recommend these guys fully professional service all the way through from contact to end product.

Steve Plenty

Could you please thank your installation team for their professionalism and attention to detail Tom. They obviously take great pride in their work and were meticulous in ensuring we were left with a structure that our committee are naturally delighted with.

Kevin Fryett

Hi Tom, just a quick message for a fantastic job with the stands – absolutely over the moon with it really brings the ground alive and our ground is really starting to look like a proper football club. Can’t wait to get the seated one in as well. Please pass my thanks onto all the guys involved – they have done a brilliant job – thanks again Tom.

Mick Hawes

Huge thanks to the guys who looked after the new barriers and a few other elements of our ground development – nothing was too much trouble for them.

Neil Chambers (October 2019)

Massive respect to Tom and his team at Sports Ground Development Ltd from everyone at Darlaston Town (1874) FC. From start to finish it has been an absolute breeze dealing with Tom, his team and his contractors in planning and erecting our floodlights. His team were punctual, tidy, effective and efficient during every stage of the process. At times they worked in the most horrendous weather conditions, never a grumble and still finished ahead of time. To be honest a few weeks after completion most of the grass has grown back and you would think the floodlights have been there for years. Great stuff from all involved.

Tony Eden

We are very satisfied with the work undertaken  in accordance with your quotation. Despite a day lost because of rain the fitting guys worked hard and completed the task within the agreed timescale, and to our complete satisfaction. They were very attentive to the individual requirements of the customer and ready to accommodate  our wishes. The product suits our needs and was supplied and fitted within budget so  we are delighted with this upgrade to our senior pitch, which will I am sure meet the approval of the FA when they consider our application for promotion.

David Mann

Sports Ground Development were a joy to work with, efficient and carried out the development work whatever the weather in order to hit our deadlines – would have no qualms about recommending them.

Lee Savage

Could I please start off by saying what a great job you have done installing the floodlights for us? Your contractors went out of their way to look after our land around the pitch perimeter which we really appreciate and the lights look brilliant.

Andy Dixon

The lights look fantastic – it was a great feeling switching them on.

Matt Smith

Sports Ground Development did a great job and also completed various other works to take our stadium from a park pitch with nothing to what it is today

Phil Hudson

The dug outs were loved last night.

Randle Gates

First of all can I thank you for doing an excellent job with the installation of the new Spectator Barrier it looks very good indeed.

Chris Bishop

Thank you for all that you have done to get our Floodlights upgraded. They are now generating fantastic light and we will certainly look to use you again in future for all our ground improvement needs.

Graeme Moir

I am pleased to say that after your team’s last visit to make some alterations to the wiring set up we have had no further problems at all with the lights and in fact people at the club are generally very pleased with the end product, so I thank your company for that and the work in ironing out the problems we experienced. The end product we are very pleased with and I think we have now got some of the best floodlights around – especially in the Southern League Division 1 Central.

Blair Pettigrew

The stands look fantastic – many thanks for your work on this and support dealing with our local council challenges.

Dennis Healy

The stand is great – appreciate all that you have done for us.

Barry Elliott

Both the covered standing and seating areas look superb. Thank you for your professionalism in how you have managed this project.

John Weeks

May I just say that as UCL Chairman and a Vice President of the Hinchingbrooke Cup Committee what a pleasure it was to attend your first senior match under floodlights last Wednesday against Bourne. You and your team are to be congratulated on the superb facilities you have created at PSL which will stand you in good stead for many years. Every success in your venture which will be both an asset and a legacy to the sporting community of Peterborough.

Matt McCabe

It has been a pleasure working with you and I think we may have found a good new contractor. I know you are keen to be involved with some more floodlighting projects, which we would be happy to accommodate.

Bob DaviesGround Hopper

There is hard standing all around the new post and railed pitch. A new 150 seat stand has been added during the summer with I think the addition of new changing rooms as well. Floodlights are due to arrive in mid-September. The club are also preparing a new car park for 90 cars with turnstiles at that end of the ground. All in all things are looking very good for the Peterborough club as they embark on their first season in the UCL.

David Diaper

Thanks Tom your guys did a great job.

Dave Wilkinson

I would also, on behalf of the club, like to say what a great job the installation team did, and how good the finished fencing looks. The whole installation went like clockwork, the team were on site when they said they would be, the fencing arrived on schedule and the install finished on time and in budget, what more could we ask for?

Kevin Barnard

Thanks very much for all of your help getting us to this point, the stand has made a massive difference to our ground and looks great.

Shaun Brittain

Thank you for the work you have undertaken and we are all very pleased with the result.

John Greaves

On behalf of Aylestone Park I would like to thank you for your help and support regarding our ground improvements in very difficult times. The grandstand, scoreboard and crowd barriers look amazing.

Ian Loveless

We certainly do want to work with you as you showed the most passion and practical understanding and concern for grassroots FC.

Adam Smith

Thanks for all of your help these past few months, couldn’t have done it without you.

Steve Jones

A great job guys – thank you – the weather was definitely not our friend.

PREVIOUS PROJECTS

Peterborough Sports

Peterborough Sports

This is where it all started back in 2013, as we took a playing field with absolutely nothing but grass and turned it into a Step 6 facility. With the club promoted 5 times in a decade, we did not stop there and the facility now is of Step 3 standard to match the clubs lofty position. Work undertaken includes new Changing Rooms, Floodlights, Covered Standing, Covered Seating, Turnstiles, a new Clubhouse, Ball Stop Netting, Walkways, Barriers, Fencing, a Toilet Block, a Hospitality Suite, a TV Gantry, a Disabled Viewing Platform and an Irrigation System. Effectively we look to use this ground as something of a test and learn facility, so that we have fine-tuned the design before we go out to the wider world.

Sheppey United

Sheppey United

Our first external project and we are for ever grateful for the club taking a punt on us back in 2014. Naturally this was an enormous learning experience, and a development carried out in the winter on land that was challenging to say the least! This involved a Floodlight installation of the Abacus Halide System, a walkway, fencing and barrier work, and we are delighted to see the club continuing to improve their impressive facility.

Helston Athletic

Helston Athletic

In 2015, whilst still wet between the ears we carried out a significant project down at Helston Athletic just a couple of miles from Lands’ End that allowed the club to move up from its Step 7 status. Again this involved Floodlights, Walkways, a PA system, Barrier and Fencing as well as a 100 seat stand.

Cleethorpes Town

Cleethorpes Town

We assisted the club with a move to a completely new ground. The Lincolnshire club were FA Vase finalists in 2017 and our task was to make the facility compliant for Step 4 football in the Northern Premier League. Our work included Floodlights, Pitch Barriers, Turnstiles, Fencing, Walkways and Covered Spectator Accommodation. On this project we carried out some of the development ourselves and project managed others works outsourced to external contractors.

Wokingham & Emmbrook

Wokingham & Emmbrook

The club had not been able to play at their home ground for a number of years due to grading at a facility that they shared with the Cricket Club. Because of this we put in some 18 metre corner columns for the Floodlight install. Again, we put in walkways and pitch barriers as well as 100 seat stand.

Barnet FC Stand at Underhill

Barnet FC Stand at Underhill

In 2019 alongside the demolition company and Moore Steel of Thorney we took down 4 x 25 metre floodlight columns and a 1,000 seat stand at Barnet’s old ground piece by piece and moved them 80 miles up to Peterborough for use at Peterborough Lions Rugby club.

Brackley Town

Brackley Town

By 2019 we had naturally grown up somewhat, were now 60 major projects in, and starting to develop both our skill set and product range. At Brackley Town we put in our “lift & drop” stand solutions to provide the National League North Club with 382 additional seats and standing for 300 as well as putting crush barriers into covered standing behind a goal that we had converted from seating to standing.

Everton Ladies

Everton Ladies

This was an example of us acting as Project Manager rather than carrying out the work in our own name. Women’s Premier League side Everton had been playing their home games out at Southport, but wanted to come back home to Goodison Park’s post-code L4 at Walton Park. The first job was converting covered standing into 250 seats and then putting another 125 seat structures either side of it. The project also included new dug outs, barrier work, ball stop netting, tarmac walkways, turnstiles and AstroTurf around various areas as well as moving and re-erecting Floodlight columns and putting a PA system in place, with Covid 19 naturally providing us with some challenges for this 2020 development.

Kettering Town

Kettering Town

We really started to spread our wings in terms of product range through 2019 and into 2020. At National League North Kettering we provided the club with a 250 seat stand behind a goal to ensure they met their Ground Grading criteria via a 7 row option solid steel structure. We are already developing this into something that will have executive boxes at the top of a 2 storey structure with changing rooms below.

West Allotment Celtic

West Allotment Celtic

Another club looking to move home through 2020, and another where we project managed rather than carry out the work ourselves. Naturally there are areas where we are completely in touch with the market and so give the club the benefit of our experience and knowledge, as well as access to our buying power. At the same time, for civils works and fencing we tend to recommend that the club utilise local resource that we then manage as well, and this project was a classic case of a mix of both worlds as we installed Floodlights, 2 x 50 seat stands (with Covered Standing to follow) walkways, fencing, a control centre and dug outs.

Norwich City NEST Academy

Norwich City NEST Academy

We broadened our business again in 2020 to enter into an installation project with Duralock for pitch barriers. This excellent uPVC covered steel solution is available in single, double or half mesh and we already have a team working with Duralock pretty much full time.
